Feb 10th: Out of CONTROL.

The Grammy Awards are always a hodge podge of poor fashion choices, in my opinion. The event is neither dressy, nor casual, so basically stars just try to dress outrageous. In the past, it seems whoever shows the most skin, gets the most coverage. Therefore why would you even wear clothes?! I wouldn’t! Apparently they had a Grammy “dress-code” this year…but it didn’t appear any different on the red carpet. Some looks were just OUT OF CONTROL.

Which brings up my outfit. I’ve been wearing this since Wednesday. No joke. I’ve taken it off for yoga and showers, but then resumed right where I left off. I feel very out of control this week, and somehow I thought if I broadcast it on my tee, the world will treat me gently. Hasn’t really happened that way, but I can pretend.

My fav looks from tonight:

Though Rihanna def was showing mad boob, I still loved. I think this is the best she has EVER looked.

634.rihanna.ls.21013

Second choice, Beyonce. I loved that she dressed down and kept it simple. After having such a huge week being front and center for the Superbowl, I loved that she took away almost all the glamour, but still looks sexy.

634.Beyonce.ms.021013

Which brings me to my first poor choice. Solange. Oh girl. Sometimes I feel I could sympathize with you, having to stand next to Beyonce all the time, me having to stand next to Grace, etc. But please! Get it TOGETHA Sister! This shoe/dress combo and makeup/hair style is terrifying.

634.SolangeKnowles.ms.021013

Another terror: Kaley Cuoco. MJ is dead. No offense. You are not him. Not even close, woman.

634.KaleyCuoco.ms.021013

Fav: Kelly Rowland. Yes, she is naked-ish. If I had that bod, I would be too.

634.KellyRowland.mh.021013

Worst dressed male: John Mayer. He honestly looks like he is trying to be Johnny Depp in Willy Wonka. I think the blue velvet is laughable.

634.JohnMayer.ms.021013

Another hate: Katy Perry. I just don’t get the hair or the dress. I love Gucci usually, but this is bad. Plus, how does she wear underwear? With that light color, I’d be sweating it. Literally. She looks old, and sort of like the mom in Addams Family.

634.KatyPerry.ms.021013

Tay Swift. I think you are so dumb and uninteresting when you talk on the red carpet. But I like your music. And even though you always pick a safe cream dress, they do look stunning on you. Props to J Mendel.

634.swift.ls.21013_copy

So there ya have it! And who am I to say what works and what doesn’t?

WAITTT A MINUTE. GIULIANA RANCIC does that. And she looked THE WORST of the night. The Mummy Returns. Seriously. Beige skin, Beige dress, beige personality, beige shoes. Barfing beige.

Feb 4th: Introducing our new APARTMENT!

So…our music video never happened. Both Grace and I lost interest after putting it on our “chore” list. Instead, you get a photo gallery! We are loving our new apartment! It’s the first time I’ve been able to call a place “home” in 6 years! Thanks to subletting in NYC and crashing in guest houses, we’ve never had our “own” spot. So…decorating was way too fun! Pinterest was very helpful in the process too!

These were our original inspiration pins:

Of course our apt turned out nothing like this (we were on a budget)…but we still think we did a good job! Hope you do too!

Mirror is made of recycled magazines= perfect! Orange slice candies are dangerous. I’ve already had to replace one bag! I asked Grace if we could spray them with Febreeze, so I wouldn’t be tempted. She said they would get sticky, and I was denied.

We love our family and friends! Alice + teacup idea was a Pinterest one. Of course, I had to feature my favorite Grace Coddington book (along with a NYC journal and my copy of “Why Men Love Bitches”).

Jan 27: Bull Shizz (and SAG Awards)

photo-2

Sunday Funday with Grace is always a joy. The highlight today was our joint purchase of this “bull” patched camo jacket. We bought another camo jacket early this week….you can never have enough, right?

Wrong.

photo-3

I also was saying bull shiz to my gluten and dairy free diet, while I shoved these yummy plates in my mouth.

SAG AWARDS

Award season is my favorite time of year. Tonight’s red carpet (I’m not talking about mine personally … I mean the SAG awards), had me in tears. I was mostly crying for Julianne Moore’s horrid choice, but was fortunate to drop a few happy tears for Nicole Kidman (again) and other stars.

Ok, done with dirty jokes now…I think.

Favs:

Jessica Chastain. Totally stole my Jessica Rabbit look from Halloween 2005, but I will survive. Calvin Klein.

JessicaChastain

Nicole Kidman, my idol, in Vivienne Westwood.

slide_277127_2031853_free

Sofia Vergara. I love skinny people. She looked sickeningly skinny, and therefore I was sickeningly jealous.

slide_277127_2031884_free

Amanda Seyfried in Zac Posen. Zac does no wrong in my book.

slide_277127_2031832_free

Tina Fey, best look ever, in Oscar de la Renta.

slide_277127_2031820_free

FLOPS:

Nothing was too horrible tonight, except Lea Michelle’s attitude, therefore I only have a few dislikes:

#1 Julianne Moore. I like that she takes risks, but a woman her age shouldn’t aim for saggy boobs, or looking like one of the girls in Now and Then.

slide_277127_2031837_free

tumblr_lkq99r3GWq1qz7o2oo1_500

Kaley Cuoco. You usually are so cute. What is this? Peach dress, horrid bangs, and red shoes? Maybe it’s a Dorothy thing? Clearly, I don’t get it.

slide_277127_2031827_free

Ariel Winter. I feel sort of bad for calling out a kid. But she gets it wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME. So, think of me more like a helpful big sis and, “FIRE YOUR STYLIST!”slide_277127_2031655_free

And this is all I have for this one….?????? Mermaid is not a good red carpet look unless you are Ariel from The Little Mermaid.

slide_277127_2031629_free

Stay tuned for the “premiere” of our new apartment in music video form coming later this week!

We’ve been busy. Well, Tara has.

Jessica Chastain. Yay for color! I love this girl…but not the saggy milking breast effect this Calvin Klein number creates.

Lucy Liu starring in “The Tablecloth”

Anne Hathaway dressed as a tampon.

Sienna Miller…don’t wear your grandma’s curtains to the Globes. Not appropriate.

Jan 10: Sunny with a CHANCE of Meatballs

photo-2

This week I consumed a record-breaking amount of meatballs (6) at a bar while watching Notre Dame get beat to shame, and my bestie Chance is in LA, so that explains this blog title.

Back in LA… how divine!

Sunny.

Auditions to get to. Classes to get back to. Friends to see. Beach walks and gorgeous weather.

Broadway showtunes to sing along to (thank God for Sirius broadway channel and Chance’s gorgeous voice). I couldn’t be happier starting the new year off this way.

Time with Chance is crazy time.

Jan 2: GRACE FEVER

photoI drove all around Toledo, OH looking for this book. Of course, Toledo makes anything trendy or cool as difficult to find as possible. Grace: A Memoir, is an autobiography by Grace Coddington, former model, creative director at Vogue, and all around fascinating person, that I’ve been dying to read over the break. After several stops, I FINALLY found it at a Barnes and Noble on the other end of town.

My take at a book review on a book I’ve yet to read: BRILLIANT!

Cover-e1353340384964

…or really stupid!  :)

What I like so far:

Orange:

The cover of this book is orange and red. It pops! Who doesn’t love orange?

photo-1Strong Redheaded Women:

There aren’t that many that I can recall, except maybe Kathy Griffin (eek)! I like that Grace has a strong opinion. She seems pretty unique.

OD-AU418A_QAGRA_DV_20121120174302Sketches:

Each chapter and the inside of the cover is decorated with personal sketches by Grace. They are adorable!

photo-5

Spreads:

I’ve always been obsessed with Grace’s styling. Her spreads tell an entire story in just one image. It reminds me of good choreography, where you can understand a story just by movement and music.

grace4The name:

Obviously, I’m biased to the name. I have one strong-minded thing we call Grace living with me at the moment. Love Ya SIS! :)

Day 365: FINISH LINE

photo-35

Well, 365 days have come and gone. The latter days were a bit more difficult to find inspiration, but I’m pretty proud of my stab at blogging for 2012. I definitely loved sharing my inspirations and ideas with all of you, and hopefully you got a few laughs along the way. I definitely will continue blogging,  not daily, but as I find the need and come up with good stories to share. Thanks for sticking around. I wish you all an amazing 2013.

Day 364: You WiSH You were a DANCER…

As many of you already know, I hail to Ohio quite often to work with the most wonderful dancers from Company C Dance Club. I will be spending the next 23 days at the studio (minus Christmas Day and New Years Eve), and I couldn’t be happier!

Here are some action shots that I captured during today’s rehearsal:

If you are looking for some good tunes to workout to, cook to, party to, get ready with, etc. This is what we are listening to at Company C, as well as some of my other current favs (none of which are new I might add)!

- Shoes by TIGA. Obviously if you caught my Vlog you would know. If you didn’t, check it out here!

- Home by Phillip Phillips (Who names their child that?)

- Nunovo Tango by DVA (Love this video!)

- Madness by MUSE. (Ma Ma Ma Ma Ma Ma Ma Ma MAD MAD MAD)! Model Erin Wasson, I envy you!

- 1940 by the Submarines (2 versions, hip hop and strings! Check it out)

One more blog of 2012 coming tomorrow. I know I totally slipped for NOV/DEC. But I was hardcore there for awhile! HA.

Day 350: First EVER VLOG! Throwback Closet, Carrie Bradshaw Style

Well, my family ditched me and left for Orlando, which leaves a lot of time for self-entertainment in Ohio. I’m usually pretty great at entertaining myself, but today I went above and beyond. I have two giant closets in my parents home, both filled to the brims with either:

a. fat clothes from 2003, when I weighed a significant amount more.

b. college clothes from 2009, where I dressed like a slut 24/7.

or

c. Tars clothes from the 80s.

Here are some things I threw together in an attempt to make a cute outfit for the last days of 2012! Let me know if you think I should Trash or Save?

Leather Vest circa 1990 Cache.

Day 346: TWELVE

Though I’ve been slow on blogging lately, I had to document SOMETHING today, considering it’s 12/12/12 and this won’t happen again until 3001 (according to Facebook).

Here are 12 things I’m grateful for, geeked about, or just what is on my mind today!

1. Holiday cards. Mine is done. YAY. Thank Goodness for my mom’s ingenious idea to use potato flakes as snow, because fake snow is IMPOSSIBLE to find in LA.photo-2

Yoga class immediately following was interesting. Potato flakes were falling out of my sports bra.

2. Good friends and fashion! My gorgeous friend Sara Lindsey is in the new Promised Land movie with Matt Damon. I acted as her stylist all last week and went around to different LA showrooms filled with beautiful gowns. Pretty much a dream! I also ran into old friend and Project Runway buddy Michael Costello and got to visit his LA showroom!

photo

3. Meditation. I just started doing it and it is so powerful. I feel very happy and fortunate.

deepak-chopra-quote-sm

4. Outfit inspiration. I’m dying over Keri Russell in this Chloe masterpiece. You WILL see me in the knock off.

100912-Keri-Russel-350

5. Instagram, Facebook, Texting, Tweeting and the like! It’s so wonderful to catch up with old friends, new friends, and family. If I could just post one selfie a week, my brother would be sincerely grateful. “Selfie’s are for crazies,” he says. Uhoh Grace :)

photo-4

6. High Rise Jeans. They are so 80s and so fun. These Rag and Bone ones have been a recent staple.

photo-3

7. Redhead love. WE gingers get enough grief. GINGERS DO HAVE SOULS :)

photo-4

8. Good ideas. Pinterest taught us to play music in a glass when we don’t have our external speaker handy. Wayy cheaper than a BOSE.

photo-5

9. Funny e-cards. Those sarcastic ones always makes me laugh.

photo-3

10. DANCE. What a release. Nothing is like it for me.

photo-8

11. Cool jobs that make me happy! Like the one above!

photo-6photo-2

12. Family. It doesn’t get better than that!

photo-7

Cheers!
