Frenchie’s mommy (who is also VERY French) is in town, so I went over to visit her wearing this new shirt from Urban Outfitters. The first thing she said was, “I like your shirt. How clever!” I looked at her like, “Derrr?”
She said, “It’s french! You know…the seven sins? The first one is talking about sex.”
You should have seen the look of horror on my face!!! I’m just some dumb American that took French for 7 years (high school AND college)….I had NO idea what my shirt said. I didn’t even take the time to notice it was French. I just liked the cross. I felt like one of those people that gets a Chinese symbol tattoo and they think it means hope, or faith, or strength, or something…instead it’s like “dirtbag.” Let’s just say, I was really embarrassed to show up to see his mother in that shirt!
