Fashion’s Night Out is going on right at this moment in NYC, and I’m not there! Yes, there are events in LA, but really, why bother?
If you don’t know, Fashion’s Night Out is an event put on every year by Vogue and the CFDA. It started in 09 as a way to strike up the fashion economy and promote consumers to spend in hard economic times. Designers and celebrities alike go out on this night, (always the first day of fashion week), as stores have special sales, DJs, drinks, etc. It’s a bad ass party!
I remember I was working at Guess in Soho on FNO in 2010 modeling. I was such a lil biatch. It was right when “Project Runway” started airing, and I was freezing on a corner passing out flyers. People would be like, “Hey aren’t you Andy’s model on PR?” I was pissed to be outside as the flyer girl. I remember my girlfriends telling me about their amazing evenings working at Swarovski, Bergdorfs, Bloomingdales, etc. They all got super drunk with the clients and had a blast. I had to wear a tight Guess tee and brave the crazies outside in Soho. I think I called a girl from my agency “ugly” and got in trouble from my booker. Actually, yea, I did do that. Oopsies!
