I’m so sad to hear of Donna Summer passing because I grew up dancing to her music! “Last Dance, She Works Hard for the Money, Hot Stuff, Enough is Enough, I Will Survive, On the Radio,” the list goes on…but I can remember countless hours of going across the floor perfecting my turns, jumps, etc. to Donna. Interesting timing, considering I am currently in Ohio teaching dance and tonight was our last rehearsal before tomorrow’s big show. Show time is really fun because you get to see all the choreography back to back, and it is always very intriguing to see certain routines that were choreographed from a true and emotional place at the beginning of the year, when you are no longer in the place that you were when you made them up. Some of the choices of movement would have been way different today, which makes me really appreciate the art of dance and choreography. Ok, enough of the serious… As long as the kids can point their feet, smile, and restrain from picking wedgies for 2.5 minutes, we should have one kick butt show!

So very sad about Donna Summer – wasn’t she the bomb to dance and sing to!
