In excitement for Julia Robert’s new movie Mirror Mirror, which opens this weekend, I decided to dress up/act like a Queen B today. Well… I act like a Queen B everyday…shoot.
Unfortunately, all of my ball gowns were unavailable at the moment, so I had to be a rather casual queen. I’m wearing all of my sisters brand new clothes, and she was actually pretty cool about it. It’s probably because I just lent her my gown for a photo shoot.
My favorite ball gown I’ve ever purchased (really my only ball gown), came from a fantastic store on the Upper West Side called “Off Broadway Boutique.” I lived above this masterpiece of a store for about 5 months in NYC without ever going inside! Boy, was I missing out. The store is gaudy… full of rhinestones, wigs, used clothes and costumes. It’s fabulous for old ladies, drag “queens,” and ME! The owner is 78, a total Broadway diva, and apparently shares a similar taste in clothes, because I love every tacky piece in the store! If you live in NYC and like to dress up like a princess/queen, check this place out!
